I've been. Honestly looking back, the best part of this run has been his cleaning up of Donna Troy and Diana's relationship, with retconning Donna back to being raised and trained by Diana and the amazons. Anmd then I'm still disapointed we don't get a full origin retelling and Donna just kind of disappears this issue. I like he actually used WW villains, but Von Gunther's and new Armageddon are pretty weak. Deva is just, well the same character from Eric Luke's run. And Genocide really needed a backstory recap give context to what she is given how unlikely it is the simone run could fit into current continuity.
I like he dropped some referrences to Exoristos but that's just amounting to an easter egg. May be he had plans long term plans that are being truncated to make room for Tamaki and movie synergy.
The Valda and Nu-Maxima team ups were largely wastes of time that could have been better spent.
Phantom Stranger shows up out of nowhere, is ooc and his plan makes crap sense. I am wondering if he planned to use Spectre but Venditi called dibs first. It would still be crap writing, but Specter showing up randomly wanting to punish her for her sins or some shit would make more sense than PS thinking he can get God to have her take his place.
Changing this to one of the Norse Pantheon showing up to punish her for misusing the power of the Valkyries or failing would be a major improvement.>>116135675
Oh look, a new embassy and supporting cast which I'm absolutely sure Tamai will be ignoring. Nubia has classic 70's full armor.>>116135702
Despite my critcisms, I actually agree. It was nice having a writer who's knowlegdable about the character's continuity and villains. And as Donna fan I'm glad he took some initiative to clean up the mess left by Abnet. But the actual overall storytelling has left much to be desired. It's been a lot like reading mediocre fanfic the last nine issues. Which should tell you how low the bar has been set.
