>>116001527>Favourite Run/ArcI'll discount Gillen's Journey into Mystery, since it's really more of a Loki run. With that said, I don't think anything has beaten Simonson's run.
Speaking only of contemporary Thor, I think Fraction has been most consistently decent, though seldom anything better than that. Jurgens had higher highs but lower lows, particularly towards the end. Aaron started off quite strong, but his run long outstayed any welcome it had.
>Favourite Supporting Character?/Favourite WriterSoft spot for a well-written Odin, but that's a rare, rare thing. I like Baldur and Sif (Immonen's run with her in JiM was underrated, I think).
Redeemed Loki really SHOULD be his best supporting character by far, but I think that nobody's managed to use him that well since Ewing left the character (partial credit to Cates' Strange run, I guess).
>Favourite Villain?Loki, by a significant margin. He tends to go under the radar a bit compared to the other iconic archenemies, but he might be my favourite character in Marvel full stop.
Loki aside, I think I'd give it to Hela. I think Surtur is the most consistently threatening and dangerous feeling of this foes, but I prefer Hela as a character.
>Thoughts on Cates?I actually think he's weaker in some ways than even late-series Aaron, to my own surprise, and I really disliked Aaron's Thor. Cates' run has been the first Thor I just outright dropped after a few books. It hasn't been offensively bad or anything, just thoroughly uninteresting to me.
>How would you improve the current mythos?I don't think too much really needs active fixing, honestly - I just think that better stories need to be told with what we have.
I guess that I'd like a more nuanced take on Odin that gives him more respect and makes his original wisdom more present without letting him off the hook for his faults. More exploration of Hela and Loki's relationship following Journey into Mystery.
