If not, if you prefer experimental styles and storytelling, can't stand limited animation and you don't usually watch cartoons because escapism, then eurotoons are the best for you, since the experimental and indie projects are huge there. The thing is you must know at least french, since France is the biggest country regarding animation in the region, and not too many projects get to be translated into english.
USA is in the middle point between the two, since there are projects that goes for the experimental side, like Anomalisa but also wannabe anime like Castlevania, so idk.
American animation is okay to me but I prefer european animation, americans hasn't doing well for the last couple decades, anime is okay too, but I just can't stand limited animation. I don't think anime is bad but I do think every medium needs a bit of experimentation and I don't consider that limited to just animation but any medium in general.
