It's a good show, and I think it serves as a great example of the kind of adult animation we're looking for. Not hyper-violent, not hyper-vulgar, but telling stories and jokes that adults find funny and relevant.

Yeah, this is easily one of the better adult animated shows I’ve come across, particularly for the reasons you listed.

Everyone's a loser but most of the time they're able to deal with it and have fun. Katie just found she's also a loser so she wasn't taking it that well. She'll be better in season 3. Probably.

I mean I can see your point, and you may very well be right. I just don't think it's that kind of a show, or it needs to be.

I guess I kind of compare it to Mission Hill. That show didn't really build up to anything too major, about the only thing would have been Andy confessing his love for Gwen in a never-finished episode.

Mission Hill had set-ups and pay-offs (usually within single episodes). This just has...stuff.

It was funny that the over-educated straightman is actually an incompetent (plus this is a good parody of art students) but then nothing happens. Katie just get drunk again and acts like she did the last time she was drunk when at least there was a "Katie outside of work" novelty to it.
