As it stands, this really does look like what you'd expect if an animated series was going to be "re-evaluated" after the initial run finished. Normally they get greenlit so far in advance we don't even notice a break. Considering it takes longer to make animation, if WS needed to air the final ep of season 3 before Netflix agreed to make more, we'd expect a longer-than-usual gap before any announcements.
Again, I wasn't a huge fan, it's been pretty flawed, so if the announcement is "no more animated DP" I'd just go "oh that's a shame, oh well." But I don't think we've seen the sorts of things you'd expect to see if the show got axed.
