>>115789511It's a shame, you can tell it was a passion project, like the previous one, had some real executive meddling towards the end with a ton of cut or trimmed scenes. Nearly half the songs had an 'extended cut'.
The title was actually supposed to be 'The Muppets...again', even down to using it's logo in the movie, but they made them change the name to 'Muppets Most Wanted' because it would brand better.
It had less heart than The Muppets, but it was also a lot funnier too with catchier songs too.
I'm worried what's going to happen with The Muppets. The ABC Show was eh but not the worst thing the Muppets have done, but at least it had the Muppets acting like adults (while still silly) but the first half was also full of executive demands and the second half they had more freedom, but it was already too late and it tanked.
They were making a movie for Disney+ with Josh Gad as the director, and it was going to be a direct sequel to Muppet Take Manhattan and them adjusting to that life style, but Disney canned it in pre-production. All they've said now is that they're developing 'Muppet Shorts' for the platform but that could be anything.
I just hope they didn't miss their chance to make it again.
