>>115764098Addendum: AT would've been better off without the overarching plot which, don't get me wrong, is trash. It's inconsistent, uninteresting, and jumps all over the fucking place to demonstrate how little communication there was during the entire production. It's amateurish in a sense that the writers either didn't have the wherewithal to pull off an actual narrative, or they simply didn't fucking care. It's like witnessing a brain dump of random thoughts loosely connected to form some amorphous, unlikeable entity.
But talk to zoomer normalfags. They'll talk fondly of AT not because of the shitty plot /co/ gets salty over, but because the average episode is just that imaginative and again, stands well without context and without needing much of an explanation. Fuck, episodes like the comet one are better without context, if you just imagine them as a giant acid trip thats utterly standalone. Is it a good episode? Hell no. But it can still work, because AT's brand of zaniness reflects on even the more serious episodes, so its difficult to take any of it seriously if you don't have a stick up your ass.
GF? The average zoomer might remember it, and they might remember it for the plot, but that's it. They won't talk about the comedy, or even individual episodes. GF may have had stronger characterization but the fact that the show is set up to accommodate for serialization puts it at a massive disadvantage. AT was never supposed to be serialized, until the writers wanted to ride the deepest lore bullshit. GF did want to, so I'm judging it like any show with a theoretically sound premise and execution but without the individual identity that comprises each episode. Wheres the chocolate with nuts of GF? fuck, where's even the "perfect" (episode from courage the cowardly dog) of GF? not what he seems comes close but gets ruined by how poorly the show resolves its plot threads.
