2. Books are also sold digitally. "SJW" books tend to sell better than traditional capeshit on digital storefronts, whereas they bomb hard in LCSs. Sometimes this isn't enough to save a book, but sometimes it is, and looking at just the diamond numbers can be misleading
3. BOOM! gets licensing fees and is infamous for underpaying or straight-up not paying its artists
4. Most of the "comic book industry" isn't floppies or local comic stores. The two main comic publishers are Scholastic and Random House.
5. Most new comics are pure digital, and use crowdfund models or patreon subscriptions instead of "sales". Pic related pulls in at least $5000 a month from patreon alone, and probably a lot more.
