It was fucking painted, what do you want from them? They had to get so many artists to make hundreds of paintings. I doubt the producers had Disney money to burn.

it wasn't painted, they used CGI and some algorithm shit to turn real life images into paintings with Vincent style. there's a video how they made it, it's pretty great
