>1. Tim pulled the trigger and "killed" Bruce.Had this been any other type of gun, Bruce would have been dead and Bruce knows this. The Joker broke Tim. That's the cold hard reality.
>2. Tim closes one of his eyes prior to shooting.This is an instinctive manuever that they don't even really need to teach. When someone closes one of their eyes like that it's because they're trying to increase their depth perception and in this instance "not miss". Tim knew his first shot was on the mark, but he took the time to line up his sight to ensure he'd hid not make that mistake again.
Fun fact, if you want to see which of your eyes is "weaker" than the other, pretend to shoot and see which one closes. The one you leave open is your stronger eye. If you don't feel the need to close one, chances are they have similar vision.
