>>115416654>X-fags are weird, they hate her but also want her and Pietro to be Magneto's kids.I think part of it is because she seldom appeared in X-Men books, a lot of them mainly knew her from cartoons where 'Magneto's daughter' was all she was.
This, and an awareness that her first appearance was in an X-Men issue makes them consider her their property, so even if they hate her and want to kill her, she's still theirs and nobody else should get her.
>I'm honestly glad they undid that retcon, being Magneto's kids didn't do much for them but just add unneeded drama. It worked for Pietro for a time, but eventually he was just repeating the same story again and again. Magneto's more powerful, important and popular than him, so he can never defeat him in any meaningful way. Once Magneto joined the X-Men, they had to turn Pietro into a villain to maintain a conflict between them.
Wanda had so little contact with Magneto that nothing has been lost. Her own lore and her own family are more interesting than her just standing behind Magneto, or dragging her into awful racial politics stories neither she nor her fans are interested in.
In a recent thread an anon talked a lot about the potential their family connections had, but in decades nobody ever did enough with that potential.
>They should have stayed as mutants thoughAt this point, Wanda absolutely needs to not be a mutant to allow her some chance of a clean break from all of this. Changing it back just because it's what people remember is a bad idea because there's nothing positive that can come from it for her.
