The filesize limit for /wsg/ was raised to 6MB but continues to lack vp9 encoding which makes ultra compression a lot more bearable when needing to follow file restrictions. I could essentially fit a 15 min cartoon in 6mb but the duration limit is also set to 6mins.
The only reason the filesize limit was extended is because of those zoomer generals like the tiktok spam and the cjk-poop generals. unfortunately these people dont care about optimization so they will just waste the extra 3mbs give to them since what they post are only a few seconds long anyways. Other image boards in the current year has up to 16mb filesize upload limits and thats only the bare minimum.
