>>115089386>But considering intersex is someone born with both with two genitals,Not really. Or rather not usually.
Intersex is any sexual deformity. There’s a lot of folks who have more X chromosomes or even men with more Ys than they should, and despite having ordinary genitals they are intersex.
Incomplete absorbed twins resulting in someone with extra sexual characteristics can sometimes result in a very complicated intersex.
In general, what you are thinking of is a hermaphrodite that is doubly reproductively viable. No true such human hermaphrodite exists on record, the only accounts of it are too far back to verify with living examples, scientifically extensive documentation, or existing remains.
Most intersex either have partially formed genitals, or undeveloped ones. Like a woman who’s urethra is running through her clitoris, or a man who’s ball sack didn’t fuse together fully.
There is a wide range of it. Some exist with partially paired genitals, but none are confirmed who have a vagina that can lubricate and a penis that can become erect to have sex with both. The rare few who have two mostly developed pairs can only really have sex, or at least pleasurable sex, with one or the other.
Technically we don’t know what Stevonnie is on the list of possibilities, and that’s part of that point of her. She may be a true hermaphrodite who could knock up Sadie and carry Lars’s child at the same time, or be underdeveloped in one way or another.
But intersex struggles are in being forced to explain what they are, clarify for strangers who have no right to ask, figure themselves out when there is no clear answer, be poked and prodded and judged, be pushed into getting corrective medical procedures they may not want or may risk their life for no real benefit beyond cosmetic, and being seen as transexuals.
Stevonnie is empowering to intersex because their response to gender is just “yes”.
