>>114713841>>114713680>>114713626>>114713456>>114713302I think the way Rose was handled was really messed up, she was originally supposed to be this person that was inherently ambiguous, because she led this rebellion that freed the earth, but simultaneously led to the deaths of so many gems, then she gives up her life to make Steven, who really at the time didn't understand his gem powers and had the tremendous weight of trying to live up to Rose's legacy. Then they start portraying her more sympathetic through these video tapes and certain episodes where it shows that deep down she cared so much for the Earth, and then later on... with the Pink Diamond reveal she was shown as being impulsive, reckless, and childish who started the rebellion essentially because she was bored. I wish they would have had another scene that illustrated how much she cared about the Earth. The show ended with people thinking that Rose was a bad person, but it should've shown how although her rebellion was started for ostensibly selfish reasons and that she was reckless and childish, by the end she had matured significantly and had come to represent a more noble or caring type of person than what she was previously. Essentially, the ark should've concluded that Rose eventually became a good person despite her time as Pink Diamond, this would've been a good lesson for this show because it is a lesson immersed in the concept of redemption that this show obsesses so much over.
