from the first scene of the movie you can tell he doesn't get it. he has the comedian punching through walls and putting up a fight. hollis' death scene is also played like his heroic last stand, when in the comic both scenes are about old men being beaten down. blake doesn't care at this point and almost welcomes his fate; hollis is killed by a fucking gang, he stood no chance the flashbacks to his golden days are not literal parallels to the action like in the movie where he imagines the gang are his old adversaries.
i mean, fucking movie couldn't even bother to make a distinction between kovacs and rorschach's voice, which is not only literally mentioned by characters in the story but also has the visual aid of having a different font and syntax. there's so much wrong with the movie anyone who says it's a faithful adaptation is clearly a wanker
