We have failed to love each other. We have failed to watch out for each other. We have failed to care for each other. We aren't there when we need each other. We're all starving for human companionship, but we're all terrified of each other, and when we do reach out, we hurt each other as often as not. We're all too self-centered to genuinely care for each other, but we desperately want someone else to care about us.
And the longer we spend stuck in our houses the more this problem is going to grow.
No wonder things like Animal Crossing are so popular. It's a way of simulating human (or animal) companionship without all the messy trouble of actually interacting with humans.
