Is it time for companies to stop pandering to adults online with "lore" toons and just make cartoons solely for children? Big City Greens is confirmed Disney's most successful show since P&F and more successful then Gravity Falls, TTG is CN's most successful show in the 2010s, Loud House is Nick's biggest hit in awhile. All either have no real internet fandom presence or is completely ignored in Loud House's case

Television is dying. Teen Titans Go being Cartoon Network's most successful show for ten years is just a sign that interest in Cartoon Network in general is dwindling.

Episodic cartoons may get better ratings on TV, but serialized stories sell streaming service subscriptions, and those are the future.

Successful isn't the same thing as good. BCG might be more "successful" than Gravity Falls, but nobody would ever say it's a better cartoon than Gravity Falls.

But look here. Everyone is begging for a mega so they don't subscribe, no adults buy merch, at most people would watch once then never again
Kids move merch at stores, watch the shows constantly on reruns and are a larger market
Your regular SU tranny would not put money where their interest is

The reason why cheap flash animation is dominating television right now is because kids AREN'T buying merch anymore.

More expensive animation used to be able supplement its higher budget with things like toy sales. But now kids are glued to their iPads. They don't need toys.

That's also the reason the industry is moving toward streaming services. With a streaming service, the show itself becomes the product you're selling to people.

it's fucking hilarious whenever I catch an episode so I assume that's why it's popular over other shows. Everything else (especially on Nick and CN )has been so fucking boring and unfunny as of late. Kids have better taste than you might realize and this show deserves the hype.

Which ones do you mean? The slow ones we get when new episodes air or the "gonna make so much money tonight" shit shows? Because I enjoyed the former just fine, they were comfy and stayed mostly on topic. Having threads when there aren't any new episodes is usually a bad idea, though, and BCG has been on hiatus for quite a while now.

Before the hiatus this year, there hadn't been much Gloria trolling at all for months.
However, more than a year ago it was so bad that BCG threads were deleted on sight. Eventually things settled down, trolls were gone, threads were left alone and the discussion was normal, if slow. Initially anons wouldn't even tolerate any Gloria-related discussion unless it involved a relevant recent episode.

That's only because it wasn't shuttled off to Disney XD. Gravity Falls episodes were getting like 3-4 million views, and probably would've been as popular as Phineas and Ferb if Disney didn't hold it hostage on its premium channel to bribe people into buying it.

Oddly, I don't even really see much stuff for kids that is serialized on those services. There's definitely cartoons for adults/mixed audience stuff but the stuff for kids seems to be the same stuff you'd get on CN. Also, it feels like it's just being used for the dumping ground of franchises that couldn't make it on TV.
