>>114501443Same. I have a job that I can do from home, so I'm still working. But now I'm trapped in the house with my roommate who was a good friend of mine until I realized how cocksuckingly selfish and lazy they are.
Since they're a best friend, I figured it would be alright. Now I just think how much I wish I had a time-machine.
I have a higher paying job, so I agreed to pay a larger portion of the rent. I paid for all the new furniture and moved in three days before they did. I put together furniture, dealt with Spectrum and ConEd, cleaned the house, furnished the place, basically got the place prepared before they moved in. This person only had one job: Ship over their old mattress to the new address so I have something to sleep on.
They couldn't even do that. I slept on the cold floor for three days, and when I called to bitch at them for not doing their one job, they threw a fit at me. "Don't ever talk to me like that, if you have a favor to ask of me, this is NOT the way you do it". Then I found out this person had gone to a party and stayed out until 5am the night before so they forgot to call me and tell me the mattress was not coming to begin with.
On top of this, I have two cats and I told this person, "I'll gladly take the very small bedroom if my cats can walk around the house without putting a fence up." They said sure. Then this person got a dog against my wishes and now there's a fench up.
This person has the biggest room in the house, plus they hang out all day in the living room smoking weed with their dog and they recently just got a bearded dragon. This is on top of their 2 snakes + two tarantulas they moved out of their bedroom and into the living room. It took me four months to teach this person how to clean up after themselves, and they still fail 50% of the time.
I'm not even married to this person and I suddenly understand the big deal of, "Are you sure you're ready to move in with them?".
