>>114399578I feel like Brun, and some of Jeff’s other female characters, are meant to be “unconventionally” attractive in a way that his female readers are meant to both find relatable and also for them to fantasize about.
Like Brun’s whole design and the way male characters treat her is supposed to make female readers think “Hey! Maybe I can have a big middle easternish masculine nose and thick messy eyebrows and a round gut and big probably hairy moles on my tits and unkempt hair and probably smell kinda like old cheese, and random men will STILL find me super hot!”
And if you’re into that, good for you and all. But I think usually around here, I think a lot of anons are attracted to that kind of thing more because of fetish reasons. Like what a lot of anons are interested in is the deviancy of it and the taboo of fucking an “ugly” chick or a fat chick or whatever, maybe because they’re bored with conventional beauty standards or maybe because they think it’s sorta gross and it’s hot because it’s gross.
But in Jekh’s writing, I don’t think it’s supposed to be taken that way. I think he wants his female readers who relate to Brun to think of themselves as unironically pretty, and I think that’s why so many different male characters keep being weirdly attracted to Brun instantly on looks alone.
