>>114392781It depresses me that this movie is so terrible, because it actually manages to have some memorable fight sequences, which is something that even the MCU fails tremendously at. Honestly, that's true of the DCEU as a whole: For as much as it drops the ball, it has way better fight choreography than its Marvel counterparts.
But yeah, that oil tanker thing is just retarded. The whole thing is weirdly tone deaf, with all those cowering citizens who Superman just doesn't seem to give even a single fuck about. Imagine how much better it would be if he suffered setbacks during the fight because he kept going out of his way to rescue civilians, offset by Zodd clearly struggling to get a better handle on his powers.
And that stupid fucking filter is just the dumbest creative choice ever. Why would you tone down the colors so much in a fucking Superman movie?
>>114392953>MoS had, honest to God, a good shot at surpassing the DKR trilogy.Eh I dunno about that. MoS's box office performance was skewed heavily toward its opening weekend. It dropped off big-time and got pretty bad word of mouth (interestingly, the opposite of what happened with the Christopher Reeve Superman). They had to change the second film to a crossover with Batman then throw in Wonder Woman for good measure to get people into the seats.
It's also not the fairest comparison because Batman Begins had a *far* less developed market to work with. But still, I'd argue that its extremely strong opening weekend does support the notion that people legitimately want to see a good Superman movie.
>>114393086>Putting a healthbar on Superman defeats the point of Supeman. It really, really doesn't, and that just betrays the fact that you don't know anything about the character. His power has never, at any point, been "completely invulnerable", it's always been "very, very tough". If you put him up against someone like Mongul, Doomsday, or Darkseid, he's going to be hurt by their attacks.
