Inconsistent animation, some weirdly delivered jokes, and some outright bad editing choices. Characters are detailed and filled with energy but putting more than 3-4 of them on screen at a time leads to a lot of overly busy shots ala George Lucas.
I could totally forgive all that because this is an indie project and some of that's subjective anyway, but the main thing that really turned me off from it was the structure. This is a 30-minute pilot that takes 6 minutes to introduce it's main character, 11 minutes to get to explaining it's concept, and spends most of the other time dicking around until the end with a showdown with a villain that doesn't offer anything to the story. That's cool if you've already been following this and like these characters but agonizing if you're new and want to understand what you're looking at.
In all fairness though, Helluva Boss was a huge improvement. Funny, structured, got it's premise out right away.
