The message is that if there's a country that is building nano machines, they shouldn't be like North Korea. But no advanced country is isolationist to that degree and the systems they were critiquing are fucked up for a lot of reasons. With black communities specifically, there's a problem with generational poverty in the US and the slaves and their descendants really got shafted into an economic sand trap. I get that the movie was saying "we should help those people" but at this point it's asking the Democrats to reform their party structure and goals and I don't know what the fuck they expected Republican to do. And it's a two party system so that's it, that's all you can do is hope one of the parties gives a shit.
Korea's hook of "what if wizards got higher paying jobs" didn't even make that much sense because they were actually being used as power generators and laborers. Granted they outclass the productivity of non-benders but Korra never laid the ground work to explain why corporations aren't fucking benders in the ass too. Especially because there was one major company and a konosony can do that, and such situations was part of why the industrial revolution was such a bitch for workers.
