In the very first episode you have Lisa ridiculing the clergy for believing in something as supposedly superstitious nonsense as the devil, when they should actually be fearing Dracula, who she mean sin contrast is very real.
Says the wife of Dracula. Who damn well should know the devil is real too.
But it's hardly a coincidence that every single church person / christian is shown in a negative light. The one and only exception being a nameless nobody priest with no name and no spoken lines, that showed up for just a few seconds total, once, when they needed an excuse to procure holy water.
Which again just makes the whole thing even more ridiculous. The show goes way out of its way to portray the church and christians in a negative light, and yet they still rely on god and his blessings to fight the monsters. It's schizophrenic as fuck.
It really would have been less work for them to just present the church the way the church is presented in the games. Instead they. among other things, went out of their way to come up with these original content donut steel group seekers. Self proclaimed enemy of both god and the church, and made Sypha, a main character part of them. Instead of simply having her work for the church, having been cared for and trained by them. For fucks sake, Sypha bonding with the Belmonts is part of how the Belmonts re-established their connection with the church in the first place.
The church is a major part of the established Castlevania lore and is a related party in tons of the major events of Castlvania's story.
So why do people just throw all these comments aside as the mad ramblings on whiny chrisfags whenever someone pointed out how the show completely dropped the ball with the adaptation part of the adaptation(not just with the church)?
It's like people didn't even react until the latest season, with Alucard and everything, even though the writing was already on the wall. We warned you guys.
