The protagonist is a survivor and rallies local priests, imams, and other spiritual leaders to their side and they eventually carve out a small enclave, which over time becomes a theocratic state. The series would focus on what would happen if spiritual leaders would be forced to assume major positions of governance and leadership, and how that would alter their faith/conduct.
The story would follow three generations, between the survivor, their son, and their granddaughter, and the rise of a post apocalyptic society
