Jesus, this has been done to death, do we really need to go over it again?
She destroyed the magic, killing every being made of magic and had no remorse whatsoever.
The episodes leading up to the finale had a lot of fluff that could have been clipped (pony head/dragoncycle and other bs) so that the ending finale would not have been as rushed.
Ruined Moon's character. Suddenly revealing that she was working with Mina, then suddenly having her change sides again. I'm not even totally against the plot points so much as the execution.
Cleaving earth and mewni together. After going through so much ham-fisted mewmans are racist monster haters who stole their land to simply forcing earth and mewni into one realm and not even showing how such an event could play out other than pure havoc. For real, what kind of message is there in all that mess?
What was the point of hyping up the spell with no name, as a potential multiverse ending spell, to not have that be one of the main reasons for getting rid of the magic?
What was the point of the purple corruption spreading, if not to make it one of the main reasons for destroying the magic?
What was the point of the monsters having been mortally wounded by a magic sword if not to be used as a main reason for destroying the magic?
I know that in some way or another these events all weighed in on Star's decision to destroy the magic, but the conveyance is poor and it comes across simply as a means to defeat Mina. It should have been clear that it was more than defeating Mina, that there were spells that could have dealt with her. That she would have been willing to fight, but that if the corrupted magic made it to the healing springs, there would be no way to save her monster friends with glow wounds. Or that they never saw the spell with no name ever vanish, and it was out there growing larger as it gobbled up more and more matter. Give us some good reason to destroy the magic. Anything damnit! Fuck! Rant over!
