>>113841454As someone who works as part of a small business, and has to deal with corporations and factories that hire labor via unions exclusively because of local politics: fuck you. Modern unions are a leech and cancer that hobbles workforces, not some glorious standard of living guarantee that keeps orphans from pushing minecarts full of coal all day. Most union members that I've ever worked with just bitch about what their dues DON'T do for them while they refuse to attend meetings or doing anything that helps actively engage or inform their reps. The unions are now structured just like the "big evil corporations" that they seek to take down a peg, downsizing admins and services while lining their own pockets and golden parachutes. They also work in concert with local government to dig their roots in deep, so independent contractors have no hope of finding work, let alone securing it. Modern unions are like California Representatives that live in gated communites; They have your vote and support, so they don't actually have to care. At least you get to belong and secure the rights the union tells you you can have through, right? Hope you paid up your dues ;)
