Amity has potential because she actually works hard for what she wants - yeah, it would be lovely if her and Willow were actual friends again, but Willow doesn't deserve it, nor has she earned it. Again, because Willow is SJWBS who can't stand up for herself because of Special Snowflak syndrome holding her back. Damn shame, as she is good with plants. Being good with one thing doesn't equal a good character, though, which Amity actually is. In fact, Amity is this show's best character. Luz, our actual MC, wishes she were as likable as Amity actually is, honestly.
If this show wants to truly get better, Luz needs something to truly become far more likable than the autistic mess she is now. Maybe if her and Eda weren't separated so damn much early on and Eda actually taught her some stuff, Luz wouldn't need to be forced into Dark and Demonic Hogwarts for storytelling's sake. As it is, this is slowly turning into another "kid goes to school in a much more unique than what the school itself offers that's it" type of show, which is pretty fucking lame.
Amphibia really is a better show, admittedly enough. Even if Owl House LOOKS better, too...
