Why make the numbers bigger? for no reason, simple. Sadly, there are people in the world who rather be miserable and drag everyone around them to their level. It xan take many shapes, demanding constant attention from others, claiming they are happy but deep down knowing they aren't and still try to put themselves on a pedestal, becoming unhealthily dependent to someone, and many other examples. Problem for the train is, it technically gave them, the apex, a literal badge of honor in the shape of glowing green numbers. Yes a high number represents something bad, but they twist it into it being something to take as a prize and excuse to put themselves above others despite it being self-destructive, only to feel superior.
My idea of what could be shown in IT, is that no matter anythimg, there will be people who rather stay with their problems and be unhappy just to keep the status quo of their lives, and no matter how much help they are given, they will never progress if they do not want to. They have to be ready to accept something is wrong, but what happens when what is clearly wrong people try to justify into it being "the obviously right"?
The first and most important step on recovery of anything is to accept there's a problem, and for a very good reason, and if someone never wants to take that small yet big step, then the journey will never happen.
