Unlike Zootopia where predation and species is a clear fucking racism thing in Beastars predation has been allegory for a number of things from sexual urge, to violent urge, to racism and more

The attitudes towards mixed animal children and species segregation for example were first petty, Haru getting isolated for ruining the Harlequins - te entire drama club and its sub-arcs (Tem, initial black market ect ect)
Then it becomes substantiated as the murder mystery starts to wrap up. Different animals have urges and needs. They SHOULD stick together and they should stay apart. We see the dangers of their intermingling with the proper black market arc cementing the urge to predate as the sexual/violent urge for carnis
Then we pivot AGAIN to Legosi and Haru progressing. Gosha and Bojack. Legosi's adult like in the nut shack
Then we pivot back to danger with the intro of Melon and the idea of mixed species kids getting spottlighted properly. Legosi's autism is finally contextualised by his mother's suffering ect ect
Then it flips over again with Chimera arc.
It even manages to show weird little opinions mid arc from different people without making it more right or wrong.
The manga absolutely states mixing is wrong and causes problems BUT it's also the best thing Gosha ever did with his life. Legosi, now a self avowed fetishist is moving down the same path but is aware of the issues. He knows he's a degenerate and is trying to do the best he can in that context.
