There has literally never been a funny adult cartoon series. If you think so, I bet you've never even been to a real comedy club.

Literally the only "adult" cartoons that ever showed any promise at all were not comedy/citcom style, and were story driven or imaginative/adventure attempts like HBO's Spawn, and even then they always fall short compared to any daytime kid slot show of the same genre.
