Only way I can get behind this god-awful story is if the big gimmick is that Malice (the psychic parasite Marauder) now comes in sword form and that she's managed to put herself into MULTIPLE swords/can posses MULTIPLE people who wields said swords and has managed to possess about a dozen plus mutants as her new bodies.

So how will they justify everyone who doesn't normally use swords using them for the event? They can't get into the dimension where the event is at without carrying a sword? Oh yeah this is also a possible explanation they could use to justify this. However, that brings up the question then why Cable and Forge don't just bring guns, also it would render Armor, Psylock and Iceman being able to fight at all.
