The town draws from specific traumatic experiences or memories for a lot of its monsters, but it doesn't need to. You can still get fucked in the Otherworld even if you're basically a saint.

A common misconception is that Silent Hill is your therapist and that it will "let you go" once you've moved on from whatever issues you have. Truth is, the town doesn't care. It simply draws from your experiences to try and kill you faster.

Kinda hard to say. We know that at the very least they are firmly entrenched within the city area we see of the game's setting and they have a ton of resources, well beyond what you'd expect. The demons they summon, outside of the case of Michael, are all immensely difficult to put down and seem immune to conventional harm, being more cosmic horrors than anything else and causing all kinds of weird reality warping/sanity damage.

Their overall endgoal of summoning the UNSPEAKABLE is kinda debatable in how damaging it would be. It could result in 'just' the loss of the entire city, or it's a bonafide apocalypse level scenario.

Frankly traumatic experiences are not the problem. But if the town taps into my imagination and /tg/ experience we are all fucked. The worst thing would be if it summons some of the characters instead of monsters. At least monsters don't have the drive to go out of town.

It wasn't just the cannibal diet that fucked up canon Leatherface. It was all of his friends being killed and turned into chilli, it was getting half his fucking face blown up, it was his insane cannibal 'family' hunting him down and doing everything in their power to break him into one of them, it was his love interest getting tortured and only JUST failing to save him from the brink, it was him being tasked with killing said love interest, etc.

There's a lot of things that contributed to Leatherface going off the deep end and becoming what he is now. And 99% of them were out of his power.

Doomguy would be indirectly killing off a lot of these horror characters just by his constant rampaging through Hell. Every time he tears the guts out of some major demon, he'd also probably be cutting off the power source of some other monster on Earth that they drew their power from.
