And Mary being possessed by Desaad was morrisons intention. Which is why in final crisis she's saved and purified by Freddy.
Then in JSA she's back to being corrupted(and in the much worse FC design) under Black Adam's thrall because as far as DC's concerned Black Adam fixing her powers is what actually corrupted her. She corrupts Billy, then the Wizard comes back to life and fires them.
This whole plot was a trainwreck from beginning to end.
