>>113284112It's really not clear. Dom did this technology exploration a while back coupled with a picture of Emmy still in her box. Those computers are very early stuff, maybe from the mid 80s at the latest. The phones could be from the 80s or 90s, but those TVs look to be from the 40s. Those salon... things aren't exactly employed in modern times. The cable car could be from any time between the late 80s to even modern day. I don't know much about cars, but those look like sedans from the 60s or 70s to me. And of course, the fact that entirely autonomous, very advanced robots exist throws all kinds of shit into disarray.
There's a picture of Emmy and some other nandroids with strollers in a park that looks like it could be right out of 101 Dalmatians, but you see a woman jogging in very modern clothing in the background. Emmy and the nandroids have access to pepper spray for defense, which was first created in the mid 1960s. We've seen a picture of Darcy looking out her window towards a building that looked to be from the 70s.
It's just a cacophony of conflicting technology and aesthetics, and I think that's probably on purpose. I don't think Dom is going for a particular year or era in history, but just a general "feel" for the setting. The year isn't what's important anyway. Again, they have super advanced robots down-pat, that doesn't fit anywhere. I think he expects the audience to just roll with it.
