>>113184343I read online how Batman and Captain America are very similar. Article pointed out how Jason Todd and Bucky were brought back around the same time.
There were other examples other than having sidekicks that I cannot remember that the article mentioned. Sorry anons. Though I would add that of all the superheroes, both suffer from always giving up their civilian alter egos for the sake of their costumed personas. Their love lives are usually always a mess and those who they do love, refuse to tie down, Sharon Carter and Catwoman.
To me, Cap and Batman are different sides to the same coin. Both are underpowered compared to their peers but their tactical genius and presence commands respect from even demigods to aliens.
The difference lies on the symbol they chose to represent. Cap is the hope of the American Dream, while Batman is the classic Western hero and Action hero who sometimes must work outside the law to bring justice.
They are the angel and devil due to their prominent head gear, Cap having wings and Bats having long ears that invoke a hellish look. Both even act as day and night to one another.
I'm sure one can even make something of both heroes' totem animals. Captain America is usually shown the Bold Eagle rightly so. Batman's totem is of course bats. Though Batman does often associate with bird motif characters like Robin, Nightwing, Bluebird and Black Canary.
