>>113174307>it's crazy impressive how they managed to balance his OP as shit powers with an entire run full of things that could threaten him without weakening himI still honestly can't believe it. Sure, Ostrander tended to resort to evil Martians/Saturnians/psychics, but dammit, he made J'onn the badass motherfucker he's supposed to be.
>one of my favorite parts is when Ma'alefa'ak was trying to turn the JLA against him and how completely resolute they were in their trust of J'onn, to the point where Arthur totally loses his patience with Huntress over her not trusting himRight, and then J'onn completely forgives them, and totally understands why they were suspicious. Not to mention, his first instinct was to willingly let WW use her lasso on him. The JL were all so completely reasonable in that arc, it was great.
>Arthur totally loses his patience with Huntress over her not trusting himAnd you can totally understand why Huntress would be angry and horrified. The things that Ma'alefa'ak framed J'onn for were genuinely really hideous Mengele-style shit. Even the antagonistic character was believable.
>I also loved how he had all these different secret identities around the world and blended into all these different communities and acted as a guardian to each of them, when his list of identities get out all of the people who knew his various identities lamented that they would lose himHe even turns into a cat just to get scritchies from an old lady on a park bench. It's so goddamn cute.
