>>113136989As far as I can tell, the "limitation" is normally Darkseid being embroiled in conflicts where you can't just Omega Beam literally all your problems away, such as fighting Orion back before he was useless or trying to break into the Source/find the ALE. And he DOES use them all the time. He's just so maximum overconfident that he often uses a lower intensity setting, for example someone recently posted a page right before the famous "Doomsday resisted the Omega Effect" page where Darkseid was openly saying he only intended to leave Doomsday dead and buried under a pile of rubble, not the full Final Wipeout that retcons your existence which he used against Vundabar that one time.
So yeah, overconfidence does play a big hand in it. But FC is supposedly the biggest stakes ever for Darkseid, with total dominion over the 5th World on one end and his own true form's demise on the other. And...frankly, it's not clear at all why he can't just massacre all of New Genesis in the New 52. Highfather and Orion are fucking nothing compared to him there, they were both sent fleeing across the universe by his dad's mere attack drones and Darkseid killed his dad WITHOUT GOD POWERS in the New 52 continuity.
Like fuck, it's horribly written but no wonder Johns decided Grail was super OP.
