Maybe suggest for a while that he's just going through a phase or trying to fit in (like how teenagers/SJW claiming to have really weird specific sexualities/orientations online was big for a while). Maybe some disappointed mention of he and Peggy wanting grandkids, which could start a whole conflict between Bobby and Hank about him wanting a different son.
But I guess I'm defining "supportive" here as Hank continuing to stand up for him, not, like, him marching in the Arlen gay pride parade or wearing an I LOVE MY GAY SON shirt. He'd be pretty low-key about it.
Don't think he's actually gay though. Could be bi, maybe.
