This is one of my favorite tropes and I imagined it for lance
>being the comic relief character who is insecure of his role on the team has the flames of his hatred grow after being the whipping boy for some time and always considered the insignificant one by his own team
>undergoes an arthas-style transition by enduring missions that he does alone and is blamed for an inefficient resolve by Shiro who lance loses respect for when he realizes that Shiro’s mistakes are easily forgiven and faces no criticism due to being the “heroic leader”
>lance loses his crush on allura, doesn’t care about being part of the team since he’s convinced they don’t care for him, and goes on isolated incursions on Galrans and slowly notice the mayhem a paladin does with no moral code when facing them (which makes sense since it’s a war and they’ve committed genocide).

It makes some sense. Norsemen were pretty relaxed about other religions including Christianity, because to them, there's always room for more gods in Valhalla.

We've even found some centuries-old amulets that are Thor's Hammer modified into a cross, combining the two religions.
