>>113000864Diamonds are very weird beings, and their power balancing is even weirder.
An important aspect of it is clearly the strength of emotions. Blue's weeping causes her to force it onto others. Pink has an equal form of an aura, judging off the Pinked White.
I think, just as the Diamonds represent parts of a whole psyche, emotions, Pink represents Passion. A powerful emotion, the definition of a strong craving, strong need to do something. That already causes her to be quite powerful, but, clearly, she's stronger than her Gem would suggest she is.
Pinkven slapped White down real easy. He blocked off all blasts White could do. He could theoretically brutalize her and other Diamonds if he had that as the goal and not reuniting with his organic half.
So, clearly, the Gem is an unholy, powerful thing, and it's so because Pink Diamond is an immensely powerful emotion representation, tainted with White's overbearing, controlling essense, her striving for perfection (i.e. she's an off-color Red Diamond, mellowed out, in a way, given a way to control herself), and not just that, but she's given a tiny form.
Maintaining a different form is difficult for Gems, especially a bigger one. Amethyst's gem couldn't support a new, stronger form.
What does this mean? It means that Gems expend a certain amount of power onto making their form, and a smaller form theoretically means more strength.
We have a being strong enough to rival White when it goes all-out forced into a tiny body. No wonder Pink had destructive outbursts - she was a tiny hose head put on top of a fucking fire hydrant, and her power just naturally blasted through.
I don't think other Diamonds could pull off healing or even feature just as much varied powers without intentionally reducing themselves in stature, and that'd require them to reconsider how they see themselves and how they represent themselves to their subjects, which is probably ain't happening.
