>>112976916I’ve felt a lot of different emotions while perusing pornographic print, from standard lust, to humor, sadness, disgust and confusion, anger, secondhand embarrassment, and even that warm fuzzy feeling that can only be brought on by something heartwarming, which is rare to come across while fapping. Yet, I can say Sultry Summer is the first porn comic to ever make me feel bored while reading it.
The art is Satisfactory, but really just satisfactory. It’s not interestingly stylized like, say, that of Fixxer, or particularly mind-blowing.
The writing is stereotypical porno-quality schlock, with characterizations that are barely recognizable, scenarios that are ridiculously contrived, and corny awkward mid-coitus dialogue to substitute for the lack of plot and character interaction that isn’t focused on various bodily protrusions and orifices.
Now this would all be fine and perfectly acceptable, if this were like your average salacious story, and had the decency to end shortly after the main actors cum.Sultry Summer however is not like the other smut, and just keeps going. And what does it provide after the dirty deeds have been done? Well if you’re lucky you might get to see a page or two of the characters acting like real human beings, rather than denizens of some strange world where sexual intercourse is the same as saying “hello”! Then it’s right back into another sex scene that’s not much different from the last, except this time, you’ve already gotten off and are no longer reading one-handed. And all those things you thought were kinda hot now are just as generic, bland, and unvaried as the comic’s sex scenes themselves. But despite how boring it gets, it just keeps on going with no end goal in sight.
I’ve seen plenty of people talk shit about longer running porn comics for getting too invested in their plot, and I can’t always say it’s been unjustified. But Sultry Summer serves as a good warning against the alternative.
