>>112920737 but, like Photon, Penance has lost her name as well. Now goes by “Hollow.”
Originally she was a mystery, a nearly feral mute young woman with crimson skin, hair and nails. All of which were diamond hard and razor sharp, although it appeared to soften slightly when she was relaxed. She arrived at the Massachusetts Academy that housed Generation X at the time, she was on the run from a mutant vampire-like creature that had chained her up and fed on her for some time.
Penance “joined” Generation X, and eventually the whole thing went to shit when it was revealed that she was actually the real Monet. The Monet that we the readers knew was a fusion of Monet’s sisters and then the real Monet swapped the penance body with her twin sisters...and then the twins eventually separated from the Penance body. Despite being empty the supposedly hollow penance still functioned and was back to being a mystery that no x-writer bothered to sort out.
I have always thought the character was wasted potential. If the X-Men don’t care about her let’s see what the Avengers can do.
