With this pacing this comic is heading straight into the "Poppy Opossum" sudden hiatus-and-ending.

He will keep introducing characters because we are barely in the first third of his "plot". He will keep making one or two updates per month, until he just quits it cold turkey.

Sure, but why does he keep introducing side-plots/characters when the ones he's already introduced haven't been given any development or arcs?
He posts around 40 pages a year and is terrible at advancing the plot, so either he's going to end it abruptly with a few dozen plot threads unresolved or he's going to drag it out for at least the next 30 years.
It just seems like he's bored and unfocused so he keeps introducing new plot elements to keep himself engaged.

DodgeBall is precisely where the comic got bloated with more and more and more characters that should have remained in the background but instead got hints of a storyline for each.
