>>112810871Ok, it's like Red Dwarf meet Archie comics.
You have this family living in an Star Trek Enterprise-esque environment with other families and some military personnel, but for the most part it's pretty peaceful.
>CastFather: Down to Earth (get it?) scientist/engineer with a slight inferiority complex. Feels like his work is looked over, but he's (almost) never desperate enough to act on it. Think Jed Clampett with shades of s1 Walter White.
Wants to be recognized and acknowledged professionally.
Mother: Will never deal with any problem in public because that would mean something's gone wrong. Had the potential to be a great chemist, but felt it was more appropriate to be a stay at home mom. Now is a part time HR worker for the ship. Wants everything to be picture perfect, keep up appearances, etc.
Eldest son (16-17 or so): Total pencil necked geek, working with computers and stuff. Arnold J Rimmer meets Urkel. Wants to join the ship's programming section, everything by the book.
Middle Daughter (15-16): Fairly well liked in school, has brains, charms and looks. Excels in chemistry and biology. Flip flops between being 'popular' or 'nerd'. Deciding whether she wants to be socially acceptable like her mother or professional like her father.
Youngest son(12-13): fucking chad, on the Zero-gee football team and everything, but barely passing classes. Not dumb, per se, just doesn't care. Street smart. Thinks his parents are lame for different reasons. Lister meets Kennedy (Clone High).
From week to week, you can switch between an American Dad comedy, a Star Trek episode from the layman's POV, Red Dwarf antics, Disney original teen drama or classic sitcom. Mix and match plots types in the same episode, whatever.
