When you're young, awkward, clueless about the world you really want to have a sense of belonging so you'll see somewhere like 4chan as being something that would substitute for having an identity. When you get older you realize the people who view using a website as being the same as having a personality are really fucking cringey as fuck but then you realize you were young once too and just as cringey.
I can give a pass to the underaged b& that self identify as 4chan anons because we were all young and stupid once. It's when you see people in their 20s who think 4chan is an identity that make me shake my head sadly.
