The youngest generations now instead of just seeing it as alright now feel like they have to fight for it, and are proud of that fight.
People think you become more politically conservative as you get older... but that isnt true. Your politics when you are 20 to 30 are basically what you die with. Society may change around you, but the die hard hippies of the 70s are now just crunchy old weirdos. And the conservative boomers now were voting for Reagan and Nixon back when they were young.
