The designs ruined it. They tried so hard to be different it worked against them. But the writing was good and the voices were good. And that theme song is one of the best.

Nobody really even talks about this show anymore. It was just kind of on for a couple years and was so-so. It had it's chance to rise above the pack and never really did. And it's not worth reexamining now because it wasn't ahead of its time or anything. It was pretty generic. It doesn't deserve a bunch of hate though but it also doesn't deserve too much praise either. Personally I just find myself wanting to change so many things and strange choices while watching any given episode that it takes me out of it.

Two memorable episodes for me:
The Everywhere Man episode.
And the Clock King episode (not referred to as Clock King)
There's probably other good ones too. Ragdoll is cool. I like Ragdoll in this show.

I think it was Mark Hamill on “Fat Man on Batman” who said how I felt, which was that he just didn’t see a point in this series, and that at least Brave and the Bold had a specific *take* that distinguished it from B:TAS.

I always feel a little sorry for this show. It was a reboot to early on the heels of TAS, which still had a running continuity at the time with Justice League. TAS had redefined Batman for a whole generation of kids, and we didn’t like this new one coming along and making things different, especially since it’s creation made us all aware of the “Bat Embargo” and interfered with JLU. In hindsight it had a lot to offer, but it’s pretty much the middle child of modern Batman cartoons. Not revered like TAS, not adored like Brave and the Bold.

Design aside, I actually thought this Joker was pretty entertaining. He had this great organ grinder theme music and Kevin Michael Richardson’s deep voice trying to sound high pitched was strangely cool.

It is more divisive and I really only liked the first two seasons. It had a more solemn atmosphere and the opening is amazing. But then they changed the theme and introduced Batgirl and Robin and the tone got lighter and it felt less like a Batman show and more like Batman and his Amazing Friends.

I prefer brave and the bold, but this was OK, the designs were hard to get into at first though and the introductions weren't as good as one would expect but it caught on stride later.

I think they also had many hits with that.
I like the idea that Batman who is considered a master strategist turned prone to teamwork while Superman is more the loner since he usually don't need help, since he is Superman.

Besides the fact that i grew up with this show as a kid in the 2000s watching this again i can say that its not perfect, but as a new incarnation coming in right after BMTAS can you blame it? Atleast its original designs on some old characters felt creative. Altho ill never forgive the decision to make the final season the justice league. Also this joker is my favorite because he isnt all edge like post ledger fans would want him. Hes just a criminal clown who tells dark puns and jokes all the time ( Joker: wait? Detective benet? your clayface? Clayface: YOUR THE ONE WHO TURNED ME INTO CLAY! Joker: thats funny, i was trying to turn you into mush!!!! )

Bruce Timm style will always be my favorite animation style for DC, but the animation style of Batman is one of my favorite things about it. Just wish it got more seasons, or a JL spin off or something.
Also, TB Joker was kino. Acting and design. And is my #2 favorite Joker, after Hamill Joker from JL.
