>>112625750I'm impressed by your dedication to defend a zombie show to the bitter end, anon.
I have actually seen a few of the newer episodes, as I said in this post
>>112625237. Some of them were decent, others were bad, but a lot of them are just thoroughly average. I feel like the animators are trying to breathe life into a series that's been dead for years, and the results feel really forced as displayed in OP's webm. It's not really bad, in fact I think nu-Spongebob is better than a lot of cartoons airing today (better than a lot of the shit this board talks about), but it's so bogged down by how bad the middle part of the series was that it's only natural people would ignore it. While again, it's not BAD, the show's newer episodes are actually really well animated and blow a lot of things airing today out of the water (especially considering how stiff other long runners became, even spongebob itself in its dark age), but overall the writing just feels super stagnant, which is why people aren't gonna keep up with it. If the newer episodes were a new show (and they might as well be honestly) they might be worth discussing, but right now we've already explored this show's dynamics and pretty much everything it can do that there's nothing new anymore, aside from the rare occasion they strike gold. There's virtually nothing for adults in the show anymore, or long-time viewers, normalfag or not normalfag. That's why no one talks about it anymore. Its time in the sun has long passed save for memes
I don't think spongebob should get continuity, which would be a complete clusterfuck (think later south park), I think it should just finally pass away so that the admittedly talented staff working on it can work on other things. Of course that's never gonna happen, but still. It's just too little, too late.
You can keep enjoying it but just accept that you're gonna be alone on this one.
