Holy shit this is why we all lost our minds over it, isn't it? There's not THAT much there, in the grand scheme of things. Just a little tenderness between them. But it feels organic and real, and not forced, which is more than the relationship between Zuko and Mai has ever felt like in the show. The show was always PUTTING Zuko and Mai together, and TELLING us how much they liked each other, but I never felt a connection between them. Does that make any sense? It felt like there was nothing real there. It was really frustrating.
