If you like Mikel Janin's work you'll probably think your work is fine. If you see it as the hideous traced shit it is then you will eventually take the rose tinted glasses off and realize your "art" sucks.
Tracing is tracing no matter what you're tracing. If it happens to be another artists art, it's also swiping.
Drawing from reference, no matter the reference, isn't tracing.
The problem arises when tracers claim they're "using reference" while tracing. It's a little phrase tracers have bastardized to feel more legit than they are.
